Whole-Wheat Marble Cookies
These twirly, swirly whole-wheat marble cookies are fun and tasty where the chocolate dough and vanilla cookie dough are rolled together to make the most stunning looking cookies.
They are soft, tender, crisp from sides and way delicious and so aesthetically pleasing to look at.
Using whole-wheat flour made this a contender for the best tasting cookie ever and there’s no need to feel guilty about enjoying an extra cookie!!
It’s a great snack for your kids along with a glass of milk and pack them in your kids snack boxes as well as they are healthy and nutritious too!!
Ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter
1.5 cup whole-wheat flour
1/2 cup powdered sugar
30 gms unsweetened chocolate
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
Instructions:
In a large bowl, beat the butter with electric mixer until creamy and smooth.
Add sugar and vanilla extract and beat until light and fluffy about 2-3 minutes.
Add the egg and beat until well blended.
Add the flour, baking powder and salt and beat just until incorporated.
Divide the batter into half and place the batter separate and add melted chocolate in that half batter and beat until incorporated.
Place the vanilla batter on a sheet of parchment and shape into a log.
Next, place the chocolate batter next to vanilla batter and shape again into a log.
Both the logs will be of same size.
Then marbleize the two batters by gently kneading the two batters together.
Finally, shape the batter into one log and wrap in a plastic sheet and refrigerate for 2-3 hours until firm.
Preheat the oven at 190°C.
Line the baking tray with parchment paper.
Remove the log from refrigerator and cut the log into 1/2 inch thick slices.
Bake for 8-10 minutes till the cookies becomes slightly brown from the sides.
Remove from the oven and place on wire rack to cool.
